In an effort to pressure the FNL rebels of Burundi, travel restrictions were placed on FNL members by  Tanzania,  South Africa,  Zambia,  Rwanda,  Ethiopia, Mozambique and  Kenya. The leaders of these countries are trying to convince FNL leaders to give up their armed resistance. The FNL is the only active rebel group left in Burundi, all the others having agreed to a peace deal in 2000.
