The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) said that the deteriorating security situation in Burundi is hampering efforts to reach tens of thousands in dire need of food assistance, after they fled their homes in the face of renewed fighting, arson and looting. Over the past three weeks, over 53,000 have fled their homes surrounding the capital as well as in provinces to the north and east. - Adam Geibel
