Rwanda: December 9, 2002

Archives

The largest rebel group in Burundi, the Forces for the Defense of Democracy (FDD), agreed to a cease-fire on 3 December, leaving only one real rebel group fighting the government. The ceasefire takes effect on 30 December 2002. The rebels would report to UN-supervised billets the next day, although who actually was going to supervise this exercise and where the billets would be located was undecided. - Adam Geibel
