The Burundi peace talks didnt start off on the right foot. Actually, they didnt start on time, either. A Tanzanian spokesman said that the talks, schedule to begin on August 5 in Dar-Es-Salaam, didnt begin, though the FDD was now scheduled to participate in the talks. However, fighting continued in Burundi. On August 5, Hutu rebels killed three civilians in an attack inside Bujumbura. One of the dead was identified as a radio reporter. A late report said FNL rebels struck the town of Migera on August 4 and killed three people there.
