A South African soldier on peacekeeping duty in Burundi was killed in what may be an attempted fragging incident. Apparently the soldier shot and wounded a South African officer in the South African headquarters in Bujumbura. Another soldier intervened and was also wounded, but the second soldier managed to kill the trooper who had wounded the officer. The latest report says the incident continues to be investigated. South Africa now has around 750 soldiers in Burundi.
