Russian police arrested 121 Central Asian men in Moscow. The prisoners were accused of belonging to the Hizbi Tahir Islamic group, which is trying to unite all the Central Asian nations into an Islamic Republic. Along with the men arrested, explosives and Hizbi Tahir propaganda were taken as well.

In Chechnya, rebel operations left six soldiers dead.
