China signed a deal with Russia in 1999 to license build 40 Su-27SK fighters. It has received ten kits to build fighters from, as well as four trainer versions of the Su-27 with in-flight refueling capabilities. Sukhoi has boasted that China will probably extend the deal to as many as 100 aircraft, resulting in more profits for the Russian company.--Stephen V Cole

Christmas is around the corner. StrategyPage needs your help to make it a merry one for our content elves. Because of falling ad revenues and the owners of the site wanting you to have a good experience, the content elves may recieve no gifts from Santa Dunnigan.

What can you do to help the content elves have a merry Christmas? There are three possibilities:

  1. Make sure you spread the word about us. Two ways to do that are to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
  2. Subscribe to our daily newsletter. We’ll send the news to your email box, and you don’t have to come to the site unless you want to read columns or see photos.
  3. You can contribute to the health of StrategyPage. A contribution is not a donation that you can deduct at tax time, but a form of crowdfunding. We store none of your information when you contribute..

Drake appreciates any help you can give him.
