Chechen rebels made seven attacks on Russian positions in Grozny. and more than two dozen attacks elsewhere in the province. There attacks are made by small groups, in some cases by individuals. Meanwhile, Russian units continue to sweep rural areas, seeking rebel units, their bases and arms caches. Warplanes and artillery continue to be used.
