: CAR Prime Minister Martin Ziguela attempted to downplay stories of attacks on Yakoma tribespeople. Ziguela was quoted as saying: ...this is not a tribal war but a coup d'etat by (General) Kolingba." Another senior CAR leader stated that Kolingba's party, the Centrafrican Democratic Rally (RDC), should be dissolved (ie, made illegal). The RDC hold 20 of the 109 seat in the CARs parliament. On June 13, a subsequent report said that the attempted coup and the resulting fighting had produced 90,000 refugees. Some of the refugees were already returning to Bangui, however.
