A long standing feud between two villages in Java saw violence that left one dead and 120 homes burned down. In West Timor, tension between East Timorese refugees (who receive free food from aid organizations) and local West Timorese (who don't) caused a suspension of repatriation activities. There is also tension over control of local criminal rackets.
