China: June 7, 2002

Word quickly spread (over the Internet, then the government media) about how 500 students at a police academy in eastern China attacked a nearby liberal arts university because of a dispute over a basketball game. The government denied that riot police were sent to deal with the police riot the government denies ever happened.
