Thales Optics has delivered the first of 70 new Laser Target Designators to the British Army under an $8.84 million contract. These tripod-mounted systems can designate targets for laser-guided bombs and artillery shells. Maximum range of the laser is 10 kilometers.--Stephen V Cole
