Canada is considering the purchase of some SLAM missiles (land attack versions of Harpoon) to use in "near-combat peace support missions". In such cases, the missiles might be used for precision strikes to protect peacekeepers or force one side of a conflict to the bargaining table.--Stephen V Cole
