While technically at peace, there is still considerable violence, particularly within areas dominated by the LTTE rebels. The radical, and dominant, faction of the LTTE is trying to crush opposition within the LTTE. "Moderates" are being terrorized into silence, or simply murdered. At least four LTTE members were killed in the last week, and many more are fleeing LTTE territory or going into hiding. Officially, the LTTE is denying that any of this is happening. The ceasefire has made it easier for LTTE hit teams to search out and kill Tamils who are not LTTE members, but support Tamil rights via other organizations. The LTTE wants no competition, and is increasingly using violence to crush other Tamil separatist
