For the 66th time since 1987, rebels launched a suicide attack. This time it was against a ship carrying 1200 troops along the northeast coast. The attack was defeated, but a navy patrol boat was sunk with 11 sailors killed and ten missing. Six suicide bombers and six rebels also died.
