Fighting with the LTTE in the north killed nineteen. There were several land and one naval action.

December 8; Fighting with the LTTE in the north and east killed 21 in several clashes. The LTTE has increased attacks in the eastern districts with large Tamil populations. The action here has been largely terrorist actions, including bombings and naval attacks (the LTTE supplies its people from the sea in the eastern coastal areas.).

December 7; Fifteen were killed in fighting against the LTTE in the north and east. 

December 6; The government has resumed humanitarian food shipments to areas under LTTE control in the north. This has long been done via neutral routes respected by the army and the LTTE. This system broke down during the recent heavy fighting.

December 5; Fighting with the LTTE in the north killed nineteen in several actions. 

December 4; Fighting with the LTTE in the north killed fifteen in several actions.
