Somali members of parliament accused Ethiopia of sending weapons and ammo across the border in order to spark renewed fighting in the area. Ethiopia has backed certain warlords as a way to keep Somalia in chaos. Ethiopia has claims on land along the Somali border, and uses these divisive tactics to prevent Somalis from invading Ethiopia. However, Ethiopia denied supporting Somalis in this case.
