Fighting that erupted on the 26th between the Dir and Merehan clans in the area of the Glagudud region's Xeraale (540 km north of Mogadishu) killed at least 12 villagers and wounded 46. While unclear what triggered the clashes, it was blamed on revenge related to a dispute over ownership of residential areas. - Adam Geibel
