Two soldiers and four rebels were killed near the capital Bujumbura, in an attack blamed on the National Liberation Forces (FNL). The deaths came as Burundi's government and FDD rebels were meeting in South Africa to put the finishing touches to a deal aimed at bringing an end to the country's civil war. According to officials in Rutunga (30 km south of the capital), the six were killed when rebels attacked an army position. - Adam Geibel
