The United Nations and friends launched an international appeal for $60 million, to assist over one million people affected by the war in the Ivory Coast (including those who fled to Burkina Faso, Ghana and Mali). 

The Prime Minister and the "New Forces" Secretary General held talks with the Ghanaian President, in an attempt to put the stalled Ivorian peace process back on track. Little progress was made. - Adam Geibel
