TANK HUNTERS OF GOD GET TOWED Syria has recently allowed Iran to send more weapons to the Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon than ever before, perhaps to pressure Israel into concessions. Among arrivals since the start of this year are Iranian-built copies of the US TOW anti-tank missile. Hezbollah has, for several years, operated an elite tank-hunting unit (dubbed "the tank hunters of God") which used Russian-built anti-tank missiles to pick off Israeli armored vehicles and even a few tanks. The new TOW supplies could enhance the capabilities of this unit. --Stephen V Cole
