Iran has begun to use anti-vehicle landmines on the Afghan border to deal with drug smugglers driving their four wheel drive across in remote areas. In an incident today, several drug gang vehicles hit mines, leaving five dead and eleven wounded. Three of the dead were Afghans and another was Pakistani.
