 Investigations of al Qaeda ally Jemaah Islamiah indicates that the organization has some 5,000 members in southeast Asia, mainly in Indonesia. Until recently, the Indonesian government denied that Jemaah Islamiah even existed, but has since changed their mind as an investigation and arrests has revealed an  extensive Jemaah Islamiah terrorist organization.
