In Irian Jaya, the police have banned an armed (with bows and spears) separatist group, the TPN (National Liberation Force.) Unlike the more visible Papuan Taskforce separatist organization, the TPN keeps a low profile. In Aceh, several rebel attacks left eight policemen and soldiers wounded.  So far this year, some 800 people have died in the Aceh violence.
