Italy, Hungary, and Slovenia have agreed to form a multi-national alpine brigade for use in peacekeeping operations under NATO or European command. Italy will provide the brigade headquarters, one mountain infantry battalion, along with the support and artillery units. Hungary and Slovenia will each provide a mountain infantry battalion.--Stephen V Cole
