Singapore Technologies Kinetics has started marketing its 40mm Super Lightweight Automatic Grenade launcher. Claimed to be the lightest automatic grenade launcher in the world, this weapon tips the scales at only 14kg. It uses lightweight materials to achieve this low weight. The weapon is being marketed for use by special forces and other elite infantry units which must carry whatever weapons they have; it can also be mounted on a vehicle. The weapon is belt fed with a rate of fire of 350 rounds per minute. It has an effective range of 1500m and a maximum range of 2200m. It fires standard 40x53mm grenades. --Stephen V Cole
