While the Army has long intended to include a water bladder (similar to the commercial Camelbak design) in its new MOLLE backpack, it has now decided that this will replace the traditional canteen rather than supplement it. Many soldiers have bought their own Camelbaks (which are commonly used by athletes and sportsmen) over the last decade.--Stephen V Cole
