The National Missile Defense program has more problems than just its balky interceptor. The booster is also facing "technical challenges" to reach flight status. The estimated cost of the program, through the first 100 interceptors in 2007, has leapt from the $14 billion estimate of earlier this year to a $20 billion dollar estimate now.--Stephen V Cole
