As the battle for missile defense dollars heats up, the US Navy has created the new post of Assistant Chief of Naval Operations for Missile Defense. Rear Admiral Rodney Rempt has been appointed to the post. The Navy has also announced that the cruiser Lake Erie will be reserved for missile defense tests.--Stephen V Cole
