Armor: New Chinese 4x4

December2, 2006: China is delivering a new 4x4 wheeled armored vehicle, the QL550, to combat units. The vehicle weighs 7.2 tons, can carry up to eight people and is armed with a 12.7mm machine-gun. This vehicle is a variant of earlier 6x6 wheeled armored vehicle designs, and is intended for reconnaissance, as a command vehicle or for police work. An export version is also available.
