AFP reported a series of armed clashes near the DRC-Uganda border involving the RCD-ML and DRC government troops. Initially, fighting broke out in Bunia. One source alleged that Ugandan Army troops (who are stationed at the Bunia airport) also engaged in the firefight. Seven Ugandan soldiers were reported killed.
