It is now agreed that North Korea did threaten, last week, to export nuclear weapons, or components for them, if its extortion demands were not met.
The threat of an aggressive North Korea armed with long range missiles and nuclear weapons has aroused Japanese public opinion. There are calls for Japan to build nuclear weapons and buy American missile defense systems. In addition, the Japanese air force would get more long range bombing aircraft.
