South Korean intelligence analysts report that North Korea has sold at least 540 missiles (some 490 SUCDs and 50 1,300 kilometer range Rodongs) to Middle Eastern nations in the last 15 years. The SCUDs sold for between $2 million and $2.5 million each while the Rodongs went for $7 million each. In the 1990s, North Korea has also exported missile parts and production facilities. The $1.5 billion in hard currency received from these sales went mainly to building up the North Korean armed forces.
