Following the recent restoration of law and order in the Ivory Coast's "wild west" by French and West African peacekeeping forces, the health of thousands of refugees returning to their villages has been threatened by contaminated ground water. Various militias threw the bodies of their victims into wells and streams, in an effort to cover up their crimes. - Adam Geibel
