Israel Aircraft Industries has scored a major victory by selling two Amos communications satellites to China. These will be launched on Chinese boosters in 2004 and 2006; each carries 20 Ku-band transponders. The deal includes options for up to eight additional satellites. IAI defeated European bidders for the contracts.--Stephen V Cole
