While US investigators are convinced that the pilot of Egypt Air 990 deliberately crashed the plane in 1999 over concerns he would be grounded for sexually harassing female co-workers, intelligence officials have noted that seven Egyptian generals and two dozen other Egyptian military officers were on board. This is probably just coincidence, but one branch of the bin Laden organization is based on the widespread fundamentalist movement in Egypt.--Stephen V Cole
