A six ship British naval task force has arrived off Sierra Leone. It includes a light aircraft carrier, a helicopter carrier and 600 Royal Marines. Apparently, Britain has taken control of UN, former SLA members and pro-government militia forces in Sierra Leone and is directing them in the fight against RUF rebels. Meanwhile, a search of RUF leader Foday Sankoh's house in the capital revealed documents indicated that RUF was planning to take over the government in a bloody coup.
