Some 30,000 refugees have fled to the capital to escape the advancing RUF forces. But for the moment, RUF has been stopped some 30 kilometers from the capital. Several hundred more UN peacekeepers have arrived at the capital's airport, which is now guarded by British paratroopers.  The British plan to go on the offensive against RUF forces. Zambia blames the UN, and the local UN commander (an Indian) for sending their troops forward without good maps or intelligence, thus leading to their capture.
