LURD denied that government troops had recaptured Voinjama. LURD did accuse the government troops of attacking from Sierra Leone, with the assistance of Sierra Leone RUF rebels.
Liberia, mainly it's president Charles Taylor, has long been accused of backing the RUF rebels in return of a piece of the illegal diamond trade in Sierra Leone. Taylor has always denied everything, but if this particular military coalition is proven, Taylor's misdeeds will be confirmed.
