UN peacekeepers have warned the Liberian government to do something about armed men crossing the border into Sierra Leone to loot and pillage. The Sierra Leone side of the border is well patrolled by UN peacekeepers and Sierra Leone police, while there is no patrolling on the Liberian side. Meanwhile, LURD has captured Garmou, 180 kilometers northeast of Monrovia. Government forces appear incapable to hunting down and destroying LURD units, which disappear into the bush if pressed too hard.
