The UN extended the arms embargo on Liberia for a year. Liberia protested, pointing out that the RUF rebels (in Sierra Leone) Liberia was accused of supporting had surrendered and disarmed. Meanwhile, Liberia was still fighting LURD rebels operating from bases in Guinea.
