Guinea claims that Liberian troops crossed the border and killed 28 Guineans.

September 9; Former Sierra Leone junta member Johnny Koroma has been reported to be living in a heavily guarded compound in the capital. Sierra Leoneans assert that Koroma is using his new residence as a command post for directing the activities of troops still loyal to him in Sierra Leone. Some of Koroma's troops have  refused to abide by the new peace agreement in Sierra Leone.

September 1; Nigeria expects to have all of its peacekeeping troops out of Liberia by the end of September.
