In the northern city of Mosul, American troops fought a group of armed men, killed three of them and found they belonged to Ansar al Islam. 

Interrogation of Saddam Hussein has revealed that he stole, and moved out of the country, some $40 billion. Saddam is said to have provided some information on where the money is and who has control of it. He is also said to have provided some information on where arms and ammo stockpiles are.
