Qusay Hussein, the younger son of Saddam Hussein, survived an assassination attempt on June 9th. Qusay is considered the heir apparent and is currently in charge of security for this father. Shia rebels, based in Iran, took credit for placing the bomb in Qusay's car. But Qusay took another car and the one that exploded killed a driver and three bodyguards. In the 1990s, Saddam's eldest son Uday lost the use of his legs because of an assassination attempt. Uday was considered something of a wild man, while is younger brother Qusay is a much smoother article.
