Pakistan's Waziristan, long the refuge of Islamic radicals and al Qaeda members, has seen the radicals depart, but the violence remain. There is still some sniping at soldiers, or the occasional bomb going off. But army radio intelligence units noted a marked decrease in wireless radio "chatter" by Islamic radicals (the only ones who can afford such radio equipment.) Some of the chatter has been picked up in other tribal areas along the border, but it appears that the heavy concentration of Islamic radicals in Waziristan has dispersed to many areas in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
