Malaysia has signed a $21 million deal to buy Baktar-Shikan anti-tank guided missiles and Anza Mk-I low-altitude anti-aircraft missiles from Pakistan. The Baktar-Shikan is thought to be a direct copy of the Chinese Red Arrow 8 missile, which is a semi-automatic command to line-of-sight weapon with a range of 3,000m. The Anza Mark-I is a shoulder-fired heat-seeking missile very similar to the Chinese HN-5 which can engage targets out to 4,200m at altitudes from 50m to 2,300m.--Stephen V Cole
