Vigilante activity has increased, as people grow desperate for help against the rampant criminal activity. Some of the vigilante groups are including political differences among those transgressions punishable by death. Over the weekend, hooded police were seen operating with armed civilians in the capital, killing "bandits." Over two dozen people were killed, and all or most appeared to be from leftist gangs.
