 FARC says it is willing to trade kidnapped civilians and security personnel for jailed FARC members. The government says it will find and liberate the hostages. FARC says it will kill hostages if the army and police get too close. 

Outside a southern town, what appeared to be a FARC car bomb went off prematurely, killing the driver.
