 President Uribe activated a new anti-terrorism unit (Mobil 1 brigade, with 300 men)  and said that the leaders of rebel organizations were now primary targets of anti-terror operations.

Police announced they had foiled a FARC attempt to bomb the main military hospital in the capital. A car bomb, using 220 pounds of explosives, was seized.
