Venezuela is opposed to Colombia's "Plan Colombia" offensive against rebels and drug gangs. Venezuela, like other neighbors of Colombia, are afraid that the new offensive will drive drug operations and rebels into their territory. Venezuela is working to establish working relationships with Colombian rebels, much to the distress of the Colombian government. For the past week, relations between Colombia and Venezuela have been going downhill day by day.  Meanwhile, FARC and government leaders have resumed peace talk meetings.
